"Take Five" is a jazz composition written by Paul Desmond and performed by "The Dave Brubeck Quartet" on the 1959 "Time Out" album. This song has 24 bars divided into 3 parts (ABA). This song has as its main feature the mixed 5/4 time signature with accents in the first and fourth beat (3/4 + 2/4). This theme quickly became a standard, becoming part of the repertoire of many jazz musicians.
