"Stompin 'at the Savoy" is a jazz standard composed in 1933 by saxophonist Edgar Sampson, this theme is also frequently credited to Benny Goodman and Chick Webb. The name of this song pays homage to the "Salvoy Ballroom", the legendary nightclub in Harlem, New York.

This musical piece has the traditional AABA form of 32 bars in medium swing. Shortly after its release by the Goodman orchestra, it was recognized as a jazz standard, being played by great artists such as Charlie Christian, Jimmy Dorsey, Art Tatum, Clifford Brown, Max Roach, Louis Armstrong, Wes Montgomery, Django Reinhardt, Joe Pass, Jim Hall, Kenny Burrell, Jimmy Bruno, Henri Salvador, Erroll Garner, Ahmad Jamal, Oscar Peterson, Herbie Hancock, Art Pepper, Biréli Lagrène, Sylvain Luc, Wynton Marsalis, Paquito D'Rivera, Red Garland and many others.
