"Smile" is a song composed in 1936 by Charlie Chaplin for his silent comedy film "Modern Times". Chaplin was inspired by Puccini's Tosca to compose this theme. Later, in 1954, lyrics were added by John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons.

This song became a jazz standard and was performed by several artists such as Nat King Cole, Michael Jackson, Sunny Gale, David Whitfield, Tony Bennett, Jerry Butler, Betty Everett, Judy Garland, Jimmy Durante, Eric Clapton, Barbra Streisand, Djavan, Lady GaGa, Steven Tyler and many others.
