"Perdido" is a jazz standard composed in 1941 by Puerto Rican trombonist Juan Tizol and recorded in the same year by pianist Duke Ellington. The name of the song refers to Perdido Street in New Orleans.
This composition is a rhythm changes in the popular AABA form, however, different chord progression is used for sections A and B and traditional Rhythm Changes progression on the bridge. This theme is widely used in jam sessions due to its simplicity and irresistible swing.
