"Once I Loved", in Portuguese "Amor em Paz", is a bossa nova composed in 1960 by Antônio Carlos Jobim and with lyrics by Vinícius de Moraes. It is also called "Love in Peace" which is the English translation of the original title. The first to record this magnificent piece was the guitarist and singer João Gilberto in 1961. However, it was in 1967 with the recording of Frank Sinatra that this song became one of the best known by Tom Jobim.

The list of artists who recorded this song is quite extensive, names like Cannonball Adderley, Gene Ammons, Chet Baker, Charlie Byrd, Chick Corea, Gary Burton, Gal Costa, Eumir Deodato, Herb Ellis, Clare Fischer, Jacob Fischer, Ella Fitzgerald, Joe Pass, Astrud Gilberto, Eddie Gómez, Stéphane Grappelli, Baden Powell, Vince Guaraldi, Joe Henderson, Jon Hendricks, Shirley Horn, Toninho Horta, Milt Jackson, Elvin Jones, Ivan Lins, Yo-Yo Ma, Herbie Mann, Pat Martino, Ronnie Mathews, Ray Drummond, Kenny Washington, Wes Montgomery, Jaques Morelenbaum, Frank Morgan, Gerry Mulligan, Jane Duboc, Nara Leão, Os Cariocas, Duke Pearson, Bill Perkins, Dianne Reeves, Sylvia Telles, Jim Tomlinson, McCoy Tyner, Cedar Walton and many others.
