Goodbye Pork Pie Hat DRUM AND BASS Backing Track Jazz Ballad - Apply your knowledge of this masterpiece by brilliant bassist Charles Mingus.

"Goodbye Pork Pie Hat" is an instrumental jazz theme composed in 1959 by Charles Mingus and released on the albums "Mingus Ah Um" and "Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus". This song is a tribute to saxophonist Lester Young who died shortly before the original recording of the song. This song is considered one of Mingus' best-known compositions and quickly became an essential jazz standard.

This theme has already been performed by many jazz and fusion artists, names like Stanley Clarke, Jaco Pastorius, Jeff Beck, John Mclaughlin, Marcus Miller, Gil Evans, Andy Summers, Spyro Gyra, Michael Brecker, Pat Metheny, Lyle Mays, Herbie Hancock , Wayne Shorter and many others.

This jazz standard can be found in the "Real Book vol.1" on page 175 and in "Charles Mingus - More Than a Fake Book - Hal Leonard" on page 52, the latter being the basis for producing this playback.

This backing track is in the key of F minor and is divided into 3 parts, in the first part we have the harmony where we will play the melody of the song, in the second part the chords on which the instrumentalist will apply his solos and in the third part we play the melody again ending the song.

This accompaniment consists of drums and double bass. The tempo is at 60bpm.
