"Black Coffee" is a song composed in 1948 by Sonny Burke and lyrics by Paul Francis Webster. It won several versions, with Sarah Vaughan's being one of the most notable. The form of this song is AABA and it is interesting to notice that the "A" sections are formed by a 12 bar blues with several chromatic chords that allow the application of many melodic motifs. The bridge has 8 bars with 2-5 and 2-5-1 cadences.
