"Bernie's Tune" is a jazz theme composed by Bernie Miller that became very popular in 1952 in the recording of saxophonist Gerry Mulligan with the participation of trumpeter Chet Baker.
It is common for this theme to be played in the key of D minor and its form is AABA with 32 measures. It has several major and minor cadences II-V-I, a factor that will generate greater comfort for more experienced jazz musicians.
This standard has already been played by great instrumentalists like Art Pepper, Sonny Stitt, Charlie Byrd, Herb Ellis, Tal Farlow, Mundell Lowe, Scott Hamilton, Charlie Parker, Joe Pass, Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa, Lee Konitz and many others.
