This song was composed by Victor Young in 1944 to be part of a film production. It is one of the most popular jazz standards. It has been recorded by Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Stan Getz, Chet Baker, Bud Powell, Stan Kenton, Joe Pass, Bill Evans, Art Blakey, Dexter Gordon and many others.

This piece is aimed at advanced jazz students, as it presents a very complex harmony with numerous modulations. There are several major and minor cadences II-V-I, altered chords etc.

Surely, studying this music will bring a lot of knowledge to the jazz apprentice and will keep the most experienced improvisers sharp.
