This instrumental gypsy jazz by Jeff Beal was used in the opening of the first season of the series Monk, a series created by Andy Breckman that tells the story of former San Francisco police detective Adrian Monk who suffers from Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), this character is played by actor Tony Shalhoub.

The original recording of this song was made by jazz guitarist Grant Geissman, who has recorded soundtracks for several other television series such as Dawson’s Creek, Family Affair, Boy Meets World, Touched by an Angel and Lizzie McGuire. Geissman has recorded more than 15 albums as a leader and participated in recordings by great artists such as Louie Bellson, David Benoit, Ringo Starr, Brian Wilson, Van Dyke Parks, Peter Allen, Diane Schuur, Paula Abdul, Robbie Williams, Liza Minnelli and others.
