“Invitation” is a song composed in 1950 by Bronisław Kaper with lyrics by Paul Francis Webster. It was part of the soundtrack of the film “A Life of Her Own” (1950) directed by George Cukor and “Invitation” (1952) directed by Gottfried Reinhardt, after the latter film the song began to be adopted as a jazz standard.
