E.S.P. NO BASS Backing Track Jazz – Lay bass lines over this important up-tempo jazz track by the Miles Davis Quintet.

“E.S.P.” is a composition by tenor saxophonist Wayne Shorter released in 1965 on the album “E.S.P.” from Miles Davis’ second great quintet, an album that, in addition to Shorter and Davis, featured Herbie Hancock (piano), Ron Carter (bass) and Tony Williams (drums).

“E.S.P” stands for “Extra Sensory Perception”, because, according to the website milesdavis.com, since the arrival of Wayne Shorter, the five members of the quintet seemed to communicate through mental telepathy, which inspired the title of this song.

This jazz standard can be found in the “Real Book vol.1” on page 141 and in “The New Real Book vol.1” on page 90.

This backing track is composed of drums and piano. The tempo is 250bpm.
