“Anthropology” is a bebop composition by Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie. It is based on the famous “I Got Rhythm” theme by George Gershwin, which served as the foundation for many other themes, such as “Eternal Triangle,” “Lester Leaps In,” “Moose The Mooche,” and “Oleo.”
Other talented artists have also interpreted this theme, including Bud Powell, Chris Potter, Brad Mehldau, Jimmy Raney, Fats Navarro, Roy Hargrove, Michael Brecker, Art Pepper, Don Byas, Elvin Jones, and many more.
