“Blues and Booze” was recorded by blues singer Gertrude Rainey in 1924. Rainey also recorded other important songs such as “Jelly Bean Blues,” “Countin’ the Blues,” and “See See Rider.”

This is a traditional 12-bar blues. There are no secrets for those looking to improvise over this jam track in the key of D major. Musicians of all skill levels will find it easy to play, freely using the pentatonic scale, arpeggios, and various blues riffs.
